MeowBreathe is an iPhone app in which a cat companion reminds you to breathe and breathes with you. It is made by Cuong Do ("we"). This policy explains what the app keeps on your iPhone, what it shares, and the choices you have.
The short version
- There is no account. You never give us your name, email or phone number.
- Your cat's name, your call schedule, your breath log and your settings stay on your iPhone.
- If you leave "Share anonymous usage stats" on, the app sends anonymous counts (for example, "a session was finished") to TelemetryDeck so we can see what works. You can turn this off at any time in Settings.
- If you buy MeowBreathe Plus, Apple handles the payment and RevenueCat records the purchase under a random ID, so the app knows what you unlocked.
- No ads, no tracking across apps or websites, and we never sell data.
What stays on your iPhone
The app stores these on your iPhone only, in the app's own storage (shared with the MeowBreathe widgets):
- the name you give your cat;
- your call schedule (hours, days, how often, call sound) and other settings;
- the days on which you finished a breathing session (your breath log);
- your choices in MeowBreathe Plus (breed, cushion, room, breathing pattern, sound, Wind down options).
We do not receive any of this. Deleting the app deletes it. Your iPhone backups (iCloud or computer) may include it, as they do for any app; Apple handles those backups.
Mochi's calls are local notifications: your iPhone schedules them itself. No server sends them.
Anonymous usage statistics (TelemetryDeck)
To learn which parts of the app help people, the app can send anonymous usage signals to TelemetryDeck (TelemetryDeck GmbH, Germany).
What a signal contains
- One event from a fixed list: the welcome was finished, a session or Wind down started or finished, a call was answered ("Breathe now" or "In 10 minutes"), calls were switched on or off, the MeowBreathe Plus page was shown or closed, a purchase or restore was completed, a breed, cushion or room was chosen.
- A few fixed values describing that event, such as where a session was started (Home, widget, notification), which breathing pattern was used, or which plan was bought (yearly or lifetime). Never a price.
- Technical details added by TelemetryDeck: device model, iOS version, app version and build type (App Store or TestFlight), language, region, time zone, the time of the signal (including hour of day and day of the week), screen size, and display and accessibility settings (such as text size, bold text, reduced motion and light or dark appearance). The app turns off TelemetryDeck's session statistics, so no usage counts are kept or sent.
- An anonymous identifier: a salted, one-way hash of a device identifier, so that one iPhone counts once. It cannot be turned back into the identifier and is not linked to you.
What a signal never contains: your cat's name, anything you type, your call schedule, your breath log, your contacts, your location or any health information.
Your choice: this is on when you install the app. You can turn it off at any time in Settings › "Share anonymous usage stats". When it is off, the app sends no signals at all.

Purchases (Apple and RevenueCat)
MeowBreathe Plus is sold through the App Store. Apple processes the payment; we never see your payment details, name or Apple Account.
The app uses RevenueCat (RevenueCat, Inc., USA) to check which purchases are active. RevenueCat receives the purchase details the App Store provides: the product (yearly or lifetime), purchase, trial and renewal dates, transaction identifiers, and the App Store country and currency. These are stored under a random identifier the app creates on your iPhone, not under your name or email. We use this information to unlock MeowBreathe Plus and to see purchase totals (for example, how many trials become subscriptions).
RevenueCat's privacy policy: https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy/
Like any internet service, TelemetryDeck and RevenueCat receive the network address of your connection when the app contacts them. Their policies explain how they handle it.
What we do not do
- No advertising and no advertising identifiers. The app does not ask to track you, because it does not track you.
- No selling or renting of data, and no sharing with data brokers.
- No health data. The app does not use Apple Health, the microphone, the camera, your location or your contacts.
Children
MeowBreathe is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
Health
MeowBreathe is not a medical device. It does not diagnose, prevent or manage any health condition.
Your choices and requests
- Turn anonymous usage statistics off in Settings › "Share anonymous usage stats".
- Delete the app to remove everything it stored on your iPhone.
- To ask for your purchase record to be deleted from RevenueCat, or for any privacy question, email support@meowbreathe.com. Because there is no account, please include the Apple order ID from your App Store receipt email so we can find the matching anonymous record. Your purchases stay with your Apple Account and can be restored at any time.
- You may also have rights under the law where you live (for example, in the EU, the UK or California). Contact us and we will help.
Keeping data
TelemetryDeck keeps anonymous signals for our statistics. RevenueCat keeps purchase records while they are needed to provide your purchases and as required by law, or until you ask us to delete them.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date at the top. If a change affects what the app shares, we will say so in the app's release notes.
